San Diego International Airport (SAN)
Travel and Ground Transport

(San Diego, California - CA, USA)

There are several public transportation options for getting to and from hotels and the city to San Diego International Airport.

Popular modes of transport include the efficient Metro Bus, shuttle vans, courtesy hotel shuttles, taxis and limousines.

Buses

The cheapest option for getting to downtown is the Metro Flyer. Flyer number 992 runs from the airport to downtown San Diego and also connects with the city Trolley and Coaster and Amtrak stations in the city. The Flyer is also wheelchair-accessible and leaves from the transportation plazas at terminals 1 and 2, and from the curbside outside the Commuter Terminal.

Shuttle Buses

Private shuttle vans and buses run from the transportation plazas and they provide a personalized service, making traveling by shuttle bus a more efficient transport option than taking the regular bus. The following companies provide transport from San Diego International Airport: Airport Shuttle, Access Shuttle, Cloud 9 Shuttle, Coronado Livery, EZ Rid, Five Star Shuttle, Seatop Shuttle, Sea Breeze Shuttle and the Xpress Shuttle.

Hotel Shuttle Buses

Most of San Diego's established hotel and motel establishments provide courtesy shuttles for guests; you can find out which hotels provide this service at the Baggage Reclaim areas.

Taxi Cabs

All terminals have taxi cab services and a transportation coordinator who will place you with the first available taxi. You can also pre-book taxis with taxi cab operations that serve the airport including Airport Yellow Cab of San Diego, American Cab, Orange Cab, San Diego Cab and USA Cab.

Limousines

Limousines provide style and comfort, and there are several executive car operations at San Diego International Airport (SAN) that provide limousine transport to the city, hotels and beyond. Limousines go from the transportation plazas in front of terminals 1 and 2, and from the curbside outside the Commuter Terminal.
